Timed Runners - Thank you for joining us at Race for the Cure
Things to know:
Q. Where and when is the Timed Race?
A. The Timed Race begins at 7:30am on the boardwalk, just south of the King Neptune statue at 31st and Atlantic Ave.
Q. Do I need a special bib?
A. Yes, the timed bibs are light blue for non-survivors and light pink for survivors.
Q. When will I receive my bib?
A. If you had your packet mailed, you will receive your bib with your packet. When you pick up your packet at Expo or Race morning your bib will included in your packet.
Q. Can a non-timed participant run with me?
A. No, for safety reasons, only timed runners may participate in the 7:30am start.
Q. I registered as a non-competitive participant, can I change to timed?
A. Yes, during Expo or on Race morning there is a special line for timed participants. For a $5 charge can exchange your bib to a chipped bib.
Q. Can I participant in but
the 7:30am Timed Race and the 8:30 Walk with my family and friends?
A. Yes, you are welcome to participate in both. However, only the 7:30am race is timed.
Q. Are there awards?
A. Yes, for the top 3 winners in each category.
Medals will be awarded to:
ALL BREAST CANCER SURVIVORS
Overall Male 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
Overall Female 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
Under 12 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
12-15 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
15-18 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
19-29 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
30-39 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
40-49 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
50-59 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
60+ 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
Q. Where do I pick up my award, is there an awards ceremony
A. There is not a Award ceremony, as the second Race begins at 8:30am. Awards can be pickup at the Awards tent in Race Village (31St ST Park) as soon as J&A Racing varies the winners and provides the bib numbers to the tent volunteers.
Q. When will I find my time?
A. Times will be posted at.jandaracing.com as soon as the times are verified and on the Komen Tidewater site on Monday.
Q. Can I be Timed at the 8:30 Race for the Cure.
A. No, there is not timing equipment on the 8:30 course.
