Valentine Fundraiser at William & Mary
The Medical and Health Outreach Club at the College of William and Mary organized a Valentine's Day Chocolate Rose Bouquet Sale as a fundraiser for the Susan G. Komen Tidewater. February is National Cancer Prevention Month, so the fundraiser was designed to donate
proceeds to breast cancer prevention research. A secondary goal was to educate the students about breast cancer and how minimize their risks. Breast cancer is not yet preventable, but with early detection it is treatable and survivable. The information gave statistics and risk factors for both women and men, several people expressed surprise to find out men get breast cancer. The fundraiser was very successful, both in raising funds and educating students. Read More Here
