Welcome to My Personal Page

Kevin and I started this team long before we knew anyone impacted by breast cancer.  We have since had friends, coworkers and acquaintances diagnosed.  We continue to do what we can to change the lives and raise funds for those affected.

Everyone is welcome to join us.  If you know anyone you think would like to participate please feel free to forward this link or pass them our contact information.  Come out and roll, run, trot, jog, walk, stumble, or even crawl.  How you cover the distance is totally up to you. This is just friends (old or new), family, and coworkers having some fun and raising some money for a worthy cause, (while wearing a tutu through the streets of Virginia Beach).  Our only rule is that you must wear a tutu.

Reasons to join our team:

1) Premium (and free) parking a block from the start/finish

2) Free team T-Shirt

3) Jello® shots

4) You can wear a tutu and feel pretty

5) Great after party

The run is 14 October 2017 at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. We will have the usual party at the house after the run. (with plenty of food, fun and JELLO-Shots) Anyone who comes in from out of town is welcome to stay with us. We have two spare bedrooms, a futon, an air mattress, and two couches. The first people to sign up can claim them, after they are gone you're welcome to bring a sleeping bag claim some floor space!

You may donate online with your credit card by clicking the "Donate" button at the top of this page. Your support helps us get another step closer to a world without breast cancer.

Your breast health…

The greatest risk factors for breast cancer are being female and growing older. Breast cancer knows no boundary and can affect women from their 20's to 90's, strikes women at all socio-economic status and in all geographic locations. One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. That's one in eight within your family, friends and social groups, company, school, church and organization!  Men are also at risk for developing breast cancer and should be aware of suspicious lumps.

The key to survival is early detection. Three simple steps for early detection are regular mammograms, clinical exams and breast self-exams. And, remember, breast cancer affects more than just the patient; friends and family need support too.

What does Komen do?

For more than 27 years, Komen for the Cure has played a critical role in every major advance in the fight against breast cancer – transforming how the world talks about and treats this disease, and helping to turn millions of breast cancer patients into breast cancer survivors.

Over the next 25 years, an estimated 25 million women around the world will be diagnosed with breast cancer if we don't find a cure.  Komen will not stop until we discover and deliver the cures. That's our promise.

We Will Find the Cure!  Together We Can Make A Difference!
