Please support me in my commitment to the Komen mission to save lives and end breast cancer forever!
This year's Race for the Cure will be held October 14, 2017. Join me on Race day by registering as an individual participant, or sign up as a Virtual member if you live out of the area or don't want to walk/run. Or just come to cheer me on at the event!
If you are so inclined, you can make a personal contribution to support my fundraising goal. 75% of fundraising goes directly to the local community to fund breast health education, breast cancer screening, and treatment projects. 25% goes to fund national grant programs which support breast cancer research, awards, and educational and scientific conferences.
This is my seventh year volunteering with the Tidewater Affiliate of Susan G. Komen, which has included several years of helping to plan the local Race for the Cure. Through my involvement with Komen, I have witnessed firsthand what great good our donations have done in the community.
I donate my time throughout the year and participate in the Race for the Cure in memory of my aunt, Margaret Rose Riley, as well as friend and former colleague Karen Pabon. I also honor and celebrate my aunts, Cynthia MacDougall and Rhonda Riley, who are breast cancer survivors.
